Dr. Richard Kowalewski, Chief Medical Officer
Richard Kowalewski is a MD, Ph.D, FRCPC cardiac anesthesiologist working at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB. With a restless pursuit for improving inefficiencies, he is an inventor of medical devices and methodologies. He lectures worldwide, and significantly contributed to the medical field in developing a new method of spinal anesthesia for cardiac surgeries. With over 35 years experience in the operating room environment, he brings in-depth expertise developing and assessing medical technologies.
Viral Thakkar, Product Development
Viral Thakkar holds a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla. He has 10 years experience managing and executing projects in R&D, product development, process improvements and cost reduction in medical device companies in the USA, Canada and India. He has worked on a number of catheter-based devices, cardiovascular stents, endoscopic tissue stapling and cutting devices, embolic protection device and many class I medical devices.
David is a highly accomplished President and CEO with a proven ability to commercialize innovative technology and deliver compelling financial results. He has a unique combination of experiences in early stage start-ups, sales & marketing, revenue and profit acceleration, and mergers and acquisitions. He has extensive experience working with governments at all levels, legislative requirements, and meeting public shareholder requirements.
Peter has established and run a variety of companies since 1978 - from the early days of electronic publishing, to medical devices successfully marketed in Canada, the USA, Europe, and Asia. He has been involved with government organizations, private and public companies, reverse take-overs, venture capital corporations and not for profit groups. Peter holds a Ph.D (Pathology) from the University of British Columbia and is active with the Faculty of Medicine's Problem Based Learning program. He has been an invited speaker at international conferences, holds a number of patents and has received several awards for his work.
